HOTEL ON BEACH:
Rhymer's Beach Hotel. Not luxurious by any means and perhaps a bit long in the tooth, Rhymer's is basic clean and functional fare for the traveler. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:
Full moon party every month at Bombas Shack in Apple Bay; just show up when the moon is full (really!) and join a huge crowd from all over the island for a most memorable 'jump up'.

QUALITY OF BEACH:
Long a yachting hangout, this is a beautiful bay enhanced by huge palm trees. And do take a swing on the famous 'tire on a rope' that has been hanging from the same palm for years.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Oft-mentioned in the tunes of musician Jimmy Buffett. There are an above average number of watering holes and restaurants on this lazy beach; good food and inexpensive accommodation abound. Speedboats can whisk you inexpensively to neighboring islands of Jost Van Dyck, Green Cay and Sandy Cay.
